Due to an agreement between the company “Immobiliare Costanza srl” and the Municipality of Ceggia, the company had to realize a pedestrian boardwalk that works as a bridge over the Piavon channel. An old boardwalk already existed in the same point, realized with prestressed concrete beams, but it could not be used by disabled people or cyclists. Therefore, the company decided to realize a new boardwalk, placed alongside the old one, and using the old one as a supporting structure. The new boardwalk is entirely built in metallic carpentry; it is made of two ramps which, starting from the two different riverbanks, join together on a central common landing, supported by a steel portal joint to the preexisting structure. The walkable surface has been realized in wood, while the parapet is in pierced tinplate. The preexisting boardwalk is finally covered with natural stone.
